Author: Ricky Lim

No one likes to be interviewed especially when it comes to job interviews. Even so, you probably have to undergo some job interviews during your working career. However, not everyone knows how to answer job interviews questions.

Here are some sample job interviews questions and answers.

The most common question most job interviewers will ask is tell me about yourself. It is a open ended question and most people are actually stumped by this.

A simple and short explanation of your qualifications and work experience will do. Try not to talk more than 2 minutes. Some skillful interviewers will use what you say to get more information on the areas he or she is more interested in that is related to your potential job position.

It is important to listen carefully to the interviewer. Never rush to reply an question asked by the interviewer without thinking through first. Of course, you should not take all day to answer a question as well. That is why preparing for common job interview questions is important.

The next most common question is why do you want to leave your current job? It is best not to speak badly about your previous employer or the fact that you need a higher salary.

You can say you are looking for better career prospects and you believe your company fits those criteria.

Another common job interview questions is what are your strengths and weakness? Again, most job applicants have no idea as they did not prepare the question before hand.

Most interviewers will want strengths that fit in the job description you are applying for. For weaknesses, well, we all have weakness but you should buffer your weak points by pointing out a strength that can compensate for it.

These are some of the most common job interviewer questions. The most important thing to note is to prepare well before attending the job interview and be confident and look smart.

Most people  fail during interview not because they are not competent or qualified. The problem is that they have not understood the principles and tecniques. Here i will be sharing with you tips to successful interview. Before i continue, i would like to define what is an interview

An interview can be defined as a formal meeting at which somebody is asked questions to determine if they are suitable for a particular job, or a course of study at a college university, etc.It can also be defined as a formal meeting at which a person is asked questions about their life, opinions, etc, especially on the radio or television or for a newspaper or magazine.

Success in interview means favourable outcome. It is also means that the interviewee understand the purpose of the formal meeting and has given the interviewer what she or he expected.Success in interview requires that the interviewee has knowledge and experiece on the issue and also understand the secrets of successful interview. Some of the secrets include:
1 Punctuality: it means doing something at the arranged or correct time;not late. When the interview is fixed at a particular time, make sure you arrive an hour before. This will enable the interviewee take care of unforseen contigencies, like traffic jam etc. The important of punctuality is no secret. Noboby need to tell you how essential it is that you arrive on time. The best bet, however, is to arrive at least a quarter hour earlier. That way, you can take your time completing th application form you may be asked to complete.
2 Don't let the Application take you by surprise: Have all the pertinent information with you:list of schools attended and dates, courses taken, names telephone numbers and addresses of prevoius employers together with dates of employment, previous addresses, names, addresses and telephone numbers of references.Bring along a black pen.Fill out the application carefully.Watch your spellings.Think of it as an intelligence test, because your propective employer might.
3 It's often the first five minutes that make or break you:If you can control the first five minutes of the interview, you've practically clinched the job.Control is simple.Go in with a smile. Give the interviewer a firm shake(this holds for both male and female applicants. Most importantly, don't wait for the employer to start the interview. It is important that you take the initiative in a forthright but low-key way, make clear the job you want, your qualifications for that particular job, your background and your general goals for the future.
This" sales pitch" should last only a minute or two. Afterward, answer the interviewer's questions honestly and openly.Give more than just one word answers. The

interviewer is asking questions in an attempt to get a conversation started.Help him or her along.Don't make mistake of being too modest. If you don't blow your own horn, nobody else will. Don't ask about" benefits" in the first interview.Show that you really care about the job itself. When you feel you've gotten across all your selling points, don't linger.Your interviewer's time is precious.Thank him or her and leave promptly. You will leave him or her with a good dynamic impression of you.

4 Don't understimate the important of a good Appearance: Many interviewer judge heavily on first impression. So make sure it is a good one.Be immaculate-form manicured fingernails to polished shoes.Dress conservatively-at least fot the first round of interviews. That means no loafers or sports jackets for men on the first interview. Women- Don't make the mistake of getting too dressed up.Wear a simple hairstyle with a minimium of make-up.
Don't rely on make-up to make you look mature. it's the way you handle yourself that tells the best story.
5 Be confident: confidence means the feeling that you can trust, believe in and be sure about the abilities or good qualities of somebody. Let the interviewr know you feel you're totally qualified to fill the openiing. You have every right to feel that way. You wouldn't be sent out of the interview room.See you at the top!

Job Interview Preparation - Three Key Steps
Author: Julia Penny

Pay attention to your personal public image in your job interview preparation. These are three critical details that are often overlooked in preparing for the job search and job interview process but they can derail your chances of getting the job you want.

Your Voicemail Message

Check what your voicemail message sounds like. Increase your chances of success while job hunting by making sure your voicemail message conveys a mature and professional personal image. Update it before you begin the job search and interview process to reflect what you would like a prospective employer to hear. Funny and wacky voicemail messages prevent employers from taking you seriously. Keep it simple, concise and clear. Start with a greeting, state your first and last name and the phone number clearly, say that the call is important to you and that you will get back to the caller as soon as possible. End with a heartfelt thank you.

Follow through on the professionalism of the message by checking your messages regularly and returning calls promptly.

Your voicemail message on both your landline and your cellular phone should give the impression that a mature and serious adult is waiting for an important call. If your voicemail sounds unprofessional the prospective employer may hang up without leaving a message and you will never get the job interview.

Your Email Address

Your email address should also present a mature and professional image. Asking potential employers to contact you at an email address such as partyanimal@... will result in giving a negative message about who you are. Although funny and casual email addresses are quite acceptable in a social context they can create the wrong perception in a business or work context. Avoid this problem by creating a second email address that you use during your job search. Refer to this email on your resume, job applications and in any job interview follow up. Keep it simple - your name such as joesmith@...is often the safest bet.

Your Social Networking Profile

A recent survey of Human Resource professionals found that 20 percent of employers have used social networking sites to conduct checks on job candidates.

Whether you consider it a violation of your privacy or not the fact is that employers are using social networks to provide background information on job candidates. Your job interview preparation should take this into consideration and allow for the possibility that anyone is able to read what you post online.

The major areas of concern for employers are stories about drinking and inappropriate behavior, discriminatory remarks about race, religion or gender, criticizing former employers or colleagues and provocative and inappropriate photos. Other issues include poor grammar and spelling indicative of poor communication skills.

Keep in mind that the details you post on your social network site can damage your chances of employability. Ensuring your public online image highlights your best qualities is a good idea and behave online the same as you would behave in any other public place.

These are three easy steps to take in your job interview preparation to make sure that your public image employers have access to is both professional and positive.
